Tim began playing bass in 1991 while studying classical trombone
at Radford University. He held the jazz chair in the RU big band as well as playing in countless
jazz combos. Tim graduated from Radford in 1995 and has been teaching music in the public school systems ever since. During
this time he continued his study of the bass. He co-founded the Intrepid Jazz Trio in 1999 with which he is playing upright
acoustic bass. The trio went through a few changes and is now called the "Intrepid Jazz Project". While still playing with the Intrepid Jazz Project, Tim also has been freelancing as a bassist. Tim has played
and recorded with many bands in the Shenandoah Valley. These bands include Duo 242, Valerie Von Fange, Jump Alley, Yesterday's Swing Orchestra, The Remember When Group featuring Charles Barone (who just took second place in the Voice of
the Valley contest on WHSV this summer), pianist Paul Ackerman, Denny Toyy Trio, singer Pearl, guitarist Dave Lewis, For Dancers
Only, and a host of others that I have forgotten to mention (sorry guys!). Tim was on WHSV TV channel 3 in Jan of 2007
playing with the Remember When Group for the noon news local talent feature.
